This week we will be reviewing and testing the four human body systems. ELA (Mrs. Nettles and Ms. Sessions) - We’re wrapping up Poetry by writing our own original pieces. We have our common formative assessment on reading literature on Monday. Then, we will begin working on writing expository essays. We will read and analyze informational articles, and use the information to write outlines, rough drafts, and final copies. ELA (Mrs. Grabb) - We are finishing our essay that we have been working on, and we are continuing to work on our Daily Grammar. Math (Ms. Dillingham) - Advanced: Simplify expressions containing integer exponents. Multiply and divide with exponents and raise powers to a power. Simplify powers with zero and negative exponents. Express numbers in scientific notation and standard form. Perform operations on numbers written in scientific notation. **Test on Thursday (12/15/16)** Grade Level: Solve multi-step equations and inequalities including distributive property and combining like terms. **Test on Thursday (12/15/16)** Math (Mrs. Logan) - Advanced: Solve multi-step linear equations with one variable. Solve linear equations with one variable with one solution, infinitely many solutions, or no solution. **Test on Thursday (12/15/16)** Grade Level: Solve multi-step equations and inequalities including distributive property and combining like terms. **Test on Thursday (12/15/16)** Math (Mrs. Lavender) - Currently working on computations with fractions. Please have your student practice their multiplication facts nightly and complete their weekly homework sheet as a review of skills already taught. Social Studies (Mr. Price and Mrs. LT)- This week, we will finish our study of Imperialism by focusing on the Spanish-American War. Students will take a test on Imperialism to complete the unit.
